Review by Rachel Coppenhaver

UUVVWWZ (pronounce it 'double u, double v, double w, z') formed in 2007 in Lincoln, NE. The four member group has a style that is hard to categorize with its female vocalist, electronic rock beats, and lyrics that range from "a suit made of shark teeth" to "I could see watching you/On the surface of the sun." The debut album was recorded at Fuse in Lincoln and mixed in Omaha with A.J. Mogis who records the many of Saddle Creeks albums.

The album is a very fun listen and even though much of the lyrics seem nonsensical, singing along seems inevitable. Notable tracks include "Green Starred Sleeve" and "Jap Dad," with a fast-paced chorus spelling out "M.A.K.E. M.E. L.O.V.E. Y.O.U." The slow songs are not quite as memorable as the dance-able beats, but they still have merit. For a first album, this young band is doing good and are sure to earn many more followers in the future
